RICHMOND, Va. (September 23, 2019) – For the second consecutive week, CAA Football led all FCS conferences with six teams ranked in the latest Top 25 national polls that were released by STATS and the AFCA on Monday.

Villanova vaulted 10 spots to No. 8 in the STATS poll and moved up to No. 13 in the AFCA poll by knocking off Towson, 52-45 in overtime, last Saturday. The Wildcats (4-0), who are off to their best start since 2009, host nationally ranked Maine on Saturday.

Towson dropped to No. 10 in both polls following its 52-45 overtime setback to Villanova last Saturday. The Tigers (3-1) travel to unbeaten SEC power Florida on Saturday afternoon.

Maine remained at No. 12 in the STATS Top 25 and No. 16 in the AFCA Top 25 after picking up a 35-21 road win at Colgate last week. The Black Bears (2-2) visit nationally ranked Villanova on Saturday.

Delaware edged up to No. 19 in the AFCA poll and remained at No. 20 in the STATS poll following its 28-27 triumph over Penn last Saturday. The Blue Hens (3-1) head to ACC member Pittsburgh this week.

Elon slipped to No. 24 in both polls after its 49-7 loss at unbeaten ACC member Wake Forest last week. The Phoenix (2-2) return to CAA play this Saturday with a big game at home against No. 2 James Madison.

Stony Brook (3-1), which starts CAA play with a game at Rhode Island on Saturday, was among other teams receiving votes. The Seawolves rolled over Fordham, 45-10, last week.
