Drexel 52, Delaware 32
Freshman Keishana Washington scored a game-high 14 points off the bench to lead Drexel to its 11
th win in CAA play at Delaware. Drexel moved to 11-1 in CAA play and 18-6 overall. The Dragons held Delaware to 32 points—tying the record for the least amount of points the Blue Hens have scored in a game in program history. Drexel also held Delaware to 25 percent shooting from the floor, including just seven percent from downtown. Drexel dominated in the paint, scoring 32 points compared to Delaware’s 16. Drexel used an 11-0 run in the first quarter to create early separation and never looked back.
Delaware fell to 5-7 in CAA play and 9-14 overall. Jasmine Dickey tallied her CAA-leading 11
th double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Northeastern 69, Elon 45
Shannon Todd tallied a team-high 16 points to lead Northeastern to a big road win over Elon. The Huskies now sit in a tie for fifth place in the CAA with Elon with a 7-6 CAA record and an 11-13 overall record. Alexis Hill and Mide Oriyomi joined Todd in double figures. Northeastern shot over 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from beyond the arc. The Huskies held Elon to four percent shooting from three-point range. Oriyomi scored 14 of the Huskies 23 points off the bench.
Elon dropped into a tie for fifth in the CAA standings with a 7-6 league record and a 12-12 overall record. Ariel Colon led the way with a game-high 18 points for the Phoenix.
Towson 83, Charleston 72
Nukiya Mayo helped propel Towson into fourth place in the CAA standings and past Charleston with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds. Towson is now 7-5 in CAA play and 12-11 overall. Though Towson led by as many as 22, Charleston stormed back in the fourth to pull within nine but could not pull off the upset. The teams were comparable in shooting from the field, however Towson did force 16 Charleston turnovers and scored 24 points off those takeaways. The teams finished even on rebounding with 41 rebounds apiece.
Charleston fell to 4-9 in CAA play and 11-13 overall. Tyler Collins led four Cougars in double figures with 17 points, while Arynn Eady posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
William & Mary 71, Hofstra 42
Freshman Bre Bellamy led the Tribe with 18 points and seven rebounds to power William & Mary over Hofstra for its fifth straight win. The Tribe currently sit in third in the CAA with a 9-4 league record and an 18-6 overall record. The Tribe opened the game a perfect 10-for-10 from the field and a 19-0 scoring run. They closed the first quarter up 27-4 and led 43-15 at the half. The Tribe finished the game with a 50 percent shooting percentage and forced 21 Hofstra turnovers. The Tribe also tallied nine blocks as a team.
Hofstra fell to 0-13 in CAA play and 3-21 overall. The Pride were led by Jaylen Hines with 18 points.
James Madison 76, UNCW 52
Freshman Kiki Jefferson tallied 21 points and nine rebounds to lead James Madison to its third straight win. The Dukes maintain their second place standing in the CAA at 10-2 and move to 19-4 overall. Kamiah Smalls and Jackie Benitez scored 16 and 12 points, respectively, to join Jefferson in double figures. JMU took the lead midway through the first quarter and never looked back, leading by as many as 27.
UNCW was led by Carol-Anne Obusek with 19 points and seven rebounds in the loss. The Seahawks fall to 3-10 in CAA play and 6-18 overall.
