RICHMOND, Va. (March 7, 1994) – Kent Culuko drained a 3-pointer from the corner with one-tenth of a second to play to give James Madison a dramatic 77-76 win over Old Dominion for its first CAA title since 1983.

The Dukes trailed by 19 with 13:04 to go, but tied the game on a Darren McLinton trey with 1:35 left. The Monarchs regained the lead on an Odell Hodge layup with 15.8 seconds to go before Culuko’s game-winner.

McLinton scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half, while Hodge had 28 points and 11 rebounds for ODU. The win sent JMU head coach Lefty Driesell back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1986.
