RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 13, 2021) – Four individual medalists in last week’s competition – Elon sophomore Pedro Rabadan, Charleston sophomore Viktoria Hund, Charleston freshman Emma Schimpf, and Elon sophomore Apple Ngamwong  earned the Colonial Athletic Association’s Golfer of the Week honors for their performance.
 
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Pedro Rabadan, Elon
Sophomore | Madrid, Spain / Colegio CEU San Pablo Sanchinarro
Rabadan won the Phoenix Invitational at 10-under in the 54-hole event. He shot an opening-round 65 – a career-best – and had the best score in program history through 36 holes as the Phoenix went on to win the 13-team event.
 
WOMEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Viktoria Hund, Charleston
Sophomore | Bremen, Germany / Okumenisches Gymnasium
Hund shared medalist honors with teammate Emma Schimpf at the Edisto Island Invitational, earning her first tournament win of the season and the second of her career. She fired a season-best 5-under 208, which tied the third-best individual 54-hole score in program history. Hund sunk 12 birdies, including five on Tuesday to catch Schimpf.
 
WOMEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Emma Schimpf, Charleston
Freshman | Daniel Island, S.C. / Oceanside Collegiate Academy
Schimpf earns her second consecutive award thanks to a share of medalist honors the Edisto Island Invitational with a 5-under 208. Her score tied the third-best individual 54-hole score by a Cougar in program history, while Schimpf picked up the first tournament win of her career thanks in part to a second-round 64.
 
WOMEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Apple Ngamwong, Elon
Sophomore | Bangkok, Thailand / Wentworth College
Ngamwong captured medalist honors at the Chris Banister Golf Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State. Ngamwong’s 2-under performance over 54 holes placed her first in the 43-player field. The Phoenix finished second as a team at the event, while Ngamwong finished in the top five for the fourth time in her career.
 
Men’s Notes
Charleston placed seventh at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, led by 5-under performances from Zach Reuland and Kieron van Wyk … Delaware was led by a third-place result from Roberto Nieves at the Georgetown Intercollegiate … Elon hosted and won the Phoenix Invitational with Pedro Rabadan, Bronson Myers, Garrett Risner, and William Frodigh finishing in the top 10 … William & Mary finished seventh at the Georgetown Intercollegiate with Logan Hunter leading the way for the Tribe.
 
Women’s Notes
Charleston won the Edisto Island Invitational with Viktoria Hund and Emma Schimpf sharing medalist honors … Elon finished three strokes behind host Jacksonville State to finish second at the Chris Banister Golf Classic … Hofstra faced LIU in a Birdies Against Breast Cancer fundraiser before taking part in the Quinnipiac Classic, where Emmah Federman led the Pride … James Madison placed fifth at the Edisto Island Invitational with Kendall Turner tying for fifth … William & Mary was led by Mikah McDonnell at the Edisto Island Invitational.
