have been selected as Colonial Athletic Association weekly award recipients in women’s soccer for their performances Sunday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nia Christopher, Towson
Sophomore | Forward | Devonshire, Bermuda / The John Carroll School
Christopher broke a scoreless tie by netting two goals in three minutes to lead Towson to a 3-0 win over William & Mary on Sunday. The sophomore forward scored in the 78
th minute and doubled the Tiger lead in the 81
st. Christopher’s 11 goals are four shy of the Towson single-season record with at least seven games left on the schedule.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Riley Melendez, Towson

Melendez recorded seven saves for her fourth shutout of the year in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over William & Mary. The game was scoreless into the 78
th minute before the Tigers scored three times in the final 12 minutes of the contest.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sophie Trepohl, UNCW
Freshman | Defender | Frankfurt, Germany / German Sport College Cologne
Trepohl scored the first goal of her college career and anchored a backline that posted its fourth shutout of the season as the Seahawks blanked Northeastern, 2-0, on Sunday. Trepohl netted an insurance goal on a header off a free kick in the 80
th minute. The Seahawks are unbeaten in their last seven games after opening the season with a 2-1 setback against VCU.
