CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Nov. 29

RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 29, 2021) – Delaware’s Jasmine Dickey and Claudia Soriano of Northeastern earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Basketball weekly awards following impressive performances over the week of Thanksgiving. Dickey was named CAA Player of the Week, while Soriano collected CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.  
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jasmine Dickey, Delaware
Senior | Guard / Forward | Baltimore, Md. / Catonsville
Dickey led Delaware to a pair of wins at the FIU Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament, averaging 35.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. The senior poured in a career-high 48 points with eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in an 87-72 win over Eastern Michigan. The 48 points are the most scored in a single game in NCAA DI this season. The point total also ranks second in Delaware program history, and third in CAA Women’s basketball history for points scored in a single game. She followed the performance, with her third double-double this season in a 72-63 win over Chicago State. The Baltimore, Md. native scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory, adding three assists, two steals and one block. Dickey leads the NCAA with 28.5 points per game this season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Claudia Soriano, Northeastern
Freshman | Guard | Barcelona, Spain / Jesuites Gràcia Col · Legi Kostka
Soriano helped Northeastern to a 1-1 week averaging 12.0 points, 6.0 steals and 4.0 assists per game. The freshman guard matched a team-high with 14 points and added five steals, four assists and two rebounds in a 63-57 win over Central Michigan. Soriano wreaked havoc with a season-best seven steals against Boston College. Additionally, she recorded 10 points, four assists and four rebounds despite a setback to the Eagles. Soriano leads the NCAA with 28 steals and 4.67 steals per game this season.
