Ten CAA Football Players Named FCS All-Americans By Associated Press

RICHMOND, Va. (December 14, 2021) – Ten CAA Football players were selected as FCS All-Americans by the Associated Press on Tuesday afternoon.

Receiving first-team All-America honors were Villanova cornerback Christian Benford, William & Mary defensive lineman Nate Lynn, James Madison kicker Ethan Ratke and Villanova linebacker Forrest Rhyne.

Benford contributed 39 tackles and led FCS with 25 passes defended (7 int./18 PBU). Lynn tallied 52 tackles, including 13.5 for loss, and was among FCS leaders with 12.0 sacks. Ratke tops FCS with a CAA-record 29 field goals and is first in the nation with 148 total points. Rhyne led the nation with 152 total tackles and added 8.5 TFL’s and 4.5 sacks.

Chosen as second-team All-Americans were JMU defensive lineman Bryce Carter (47 tackles, 19.0 TFL, 8.0 sacks), Villanova offensive lineman Michael Corbi, Rhode Island defensive back Jordan Jones (36 tackles, 6 int., 8 PBU), and New Hampshire defensive lineman Josiah Silver (80 tackles, 20.5 TFL, 12.5 sacks).

Recognized on the All-America third team were JMU quarterback Cole Johnson (262-of-388, 3,569 yds., 39 TD’s) and JMU defensive back Greg Ross (30 tackles, 4 int., 12 PBU).
