CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards – Apr. 13
RICHMOND, Va. (Apr. 13, 2021) – William & Mary’s Kimi Jones was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Field Hockey Player of the Week while Drexel’s Shannon Tringola and Northeastern’s Caroline Sweeny earned CAA Co-Rookie of the Week honors.

In back-to-back wins for William & Mary this past week Jones did not allow an opponent to score during 90 minutes of action in goal. Jones started the week, with a shutout while playing all 60 minutes against Towson and recording four saves. Then in the Tribe’s upset victory over #20 Delaware, Jones played the first 30 minutes of the match and recorded a pair of saves after facing seven shots.
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Shannon Tringola, Drexel
Freshman | Forward | Middletown, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic
Tringola recorded four points on two goals in a pair of games for the Dragons last week. The freshman forward scored two goals in Drexel’s 5-2 victory over Northeastern marking her second and third goals of the season. She also recorded two shots on goal in the Dragons setback versus Hofstra.

Caroline Sweeny, Northeastern

Sweeny scored her first two career goals over the Huskies’ two games this past week. She tallied her first colligate goal against Drexel off a penalty corner finishing the game with two points and the one goal despite Northeastern falling in the contest. Then against Hofstra, she sparked the Huskies’ offense scoring their first goal of the game to knot the score at one with Northeastern eventually pulling ahead to win the match 3-1.
