CAA Softball Weekly Awards – Apr. 6
RICHMOND, Va. (Apr. 6, 2021) – The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced Hofstra’s Jaycee Ruberti as softball’s CAA Player of the Week while Delaware had a pair of student-athletes pick up weekly honors. The Blue Hens’ duo of Emily Winburn and Lexi Moore were named CAA Pitcher of the Week and CAA Rookie of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jaycee Ruberti, Hofstra

Ruberti led the Pride at the plate in a 3-1 week which included a 3-0 sweep of conference foe Towson. Over the week, the junior centerfielder hit .643 recording nine hits, seven RBIs, four runs scored while drawing a pair of walks and stealing four bases. In the three-game set against Towson, she went 7-for-11 from the plate recording all seven of her runs batted in as well as her four runs scored. Ruberti knocked in both runs in the Pride’s series-opening 2-1 while she capped the week with back-to-back three-hit games going 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the second matchup and finished the week with a 3-for-3 performance with three runs scored and one run batted in. Ruberti has now recorded seven multi-RBI games this season and is currently sitting on a five-game hitting streak.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Emily Winburn, Delaware
Sophomore | Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Blue Hens’ ace, Winburn was impressive in the circle posting a 3-0 record while pitching 16.0 innings only allowing two earned runs and striking out 18 to post a 0.88 ERA throughout the week. In a midweek matchup with Penn, Winburn pitched a complete, extra-inning, game throwing 8.0 innings and striking out eight while giving up just two earned runs in a 5-2 win for Delaware. She helped Delaware pick up a pair of CAA wins versus Drexel. First, notching her second straight complete game pitching 5.0 innings only allowing two hits while striking out seven in a 13-0 win for the Blue Hens. She then entered the circle in relief during the next game pitching 3.0 innings of no-run ball, striking out three and ultimately picking up a win in Delaware’s 4-3 walk-off victory. Winburn (7-0) leads the CAA in wins while she ranks second in both ERA (1.28) and strikeouts (50).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lexi Moore, Delaware
Freshman | Infield / Utility | Dover, Del. / Smyrna HS
Moore went 8-for-15 in the batter’s box in a pair of games against Penn and Drexel. She also led the team with four runs scored and three stolen bases. In the midweek doubleheader against Penn, Moore went 5-for-7 with 3 runs scored, two stolen bases and a base on balls in a pair of wins 5-2 and 11-0. She continued her hot stretch in two wins over Drexel, recording three hits a run scored and a stolen base. Moore has now recorded six multi-hit games to begin her career this spring.
