RICHMOND, Va. (May 25, 2021) – UNCW’s Blake McShea was selected the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Golfer of the Year by the league’s nine head coaches. Charleston’s Zach Reuland was chosen as the CAA Rookie of the Year while the Cougars’ head coach Mitch Krywulycz was named the CAA Coach of the Year.

McShea was the Seahawks’ top performer this season. The graduate student from Zebulon, North Carolina led UNCW with a 70.55 stroke average. He had three top five finishes in the five regular season events, plus a top 10 finish at the NCAA Noblesville Regional. He is currently No. 101 nationally in the Golfstat.com rankings. He is the fourth Seahawk to earn CAA Men’s Golfer of the Year honors.

Reuland was the medalist at the 2021 CAA Men’s Golf Championship. The freshman from Rock Hill, South Carolina led the Cougars in scoring this season with a 71.91 stroke average. In addition to the victory in the conference championship, he had three other top 10 finishes this season. Reuland is the first Charleston player to earn CAA Rookie of the Year honors.

Krywulycz wins Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Cougars to the 2021 CAA Men’s Golf Championship, the program’s fifth title and first since 2017.
