JMU’s Alexander Earns NFCA All-American Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 2, 2021) – James Madison’s Odicci Alexander earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American honors announced by the association Thursday afternoon.
Alexander was tabbed as a utility/pitcher on the NFCA Second Team marking the third consecutive season the senior garnered All-American honors.
Alexander, named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Pitcher of the Year, has accumulated 117.0 innings pitched in the circle this season posting a 1.14 ERA which ranks first in the conference. She also leads the CAA with 186 strikeouts and a 5.47 strikeout-to-walk ratio while ranking seventh in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (11.1).
The senior has led the Dukes to their first-ever Women’s College World Series (WCWS) appearance in program history by elevating her game during an impressive postseason campaign. Alexander has pitched 31.0 innings throughout the Regional and Super Regional rounds posting a 5-1 record in those games. She has a 2.71 ERA while racking up 48 strikeouts including a program-record 19 strikeout performance in a 10.0 inning victory over Liberty.
At the plate, Alexander is hitting .343 (24-for-70) and has a .486 on-base percentage. This spring she has recorded two home runs, 12 runs batted in and 12 runs scored in limited action.
At least one CAA student-athlete has been named an NFCA All-American for nine straight seasons dating back to 2012.
