CAA Announces 2021-22 Men's Basketball Conference Schedule
Miles McQuiggan
RICHMOND, Va. (July 29, 2021) – The Colonial Athletic Association has announced its men’s basketball conference schedule for the 2021-22 campaign.
The CAA’s 10 teams will return to a traditional conference scheduling model this winter with an 18-game schedule, travel partners, and double round-robin format. Conference play will begin with a pair of dates in the week between Christmas and New Year’s with competition on Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Friday, Dec. 31.
The conference slate will feature eight game dates from December 29-January 17. The stretch wraps up with all 10 teams competing for the first time on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, providing each institution with the opportunity to promote its initiatives that focus on eliminating racial and social injustice.
The final six weekends of CAA play will follow a traditional Thursday-Saturday schedule with the regular season concluding Saturday, Feb. 26.
The CAA Men’s Basketball Championship will return to the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., in 2022, on March 5-8 in the nation’s capital.
Three of the five members of the 2020-21 All-CAA first team return this season – Delaware’s Dylan Painter, Hofstra's Jalen Ray, and Drexel’s Camren Wynter. Second-team honoree Hunter McIntosh (Elon) joins them along with third-team recipients Ryan Allen (Delaware), James Butler (Drexel), Vado Morse (James Madison), and Mike Okauru (UNCW).
