Drexel's Chris Donovan Selected by Columbus Crew in MLS SuperDraft

NEW YORK (Jan. 11, 2022) –Drexel men's soccer senior
Chris Donovan was selected Tuesday by the Columbus Crew in the third round (68
th overall) of the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Donovan completed his senior campaign for Drexel with 12 goals, two assists, and 26 points in 2021. The senior compiled several accolades in the fall campaign, including the Philadelphia Soccer Six Chris Jones Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches Men's Soccer Scholar All-America second team, the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team, United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region First Team, Philadelphia Inquirer Men's Soccer Performer of the Year, CAA Men's Soccer Player of the Year and All-CAA first-team honors. The senior was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 first team, the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and was a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.
Donovan is the second Drexel player in program history to be drafted by an MLS team. The New York Red Bulls (at the time, MetroStars) selected Jeff Parke with the 60th pick of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft.
