Rob Washburn
In celebration of Black History Month, the CAA is recognizing one former student-athlete, coach or administrator from each of its 10 member institutions who have made a significant impact in the community. The conference is proud to promote these men and women for their outstanding accomplishments.
Today we recognize Northeastern's Tramaine Shaw
Tramaine Shaw, Northeastern – Track & Field
Tramaine Shaw has made a tremendous impact as a student-athlete and coach during her time at Northeastern University.
A four-year letterwinner for the Huskies from 2005-09, she was a seven-time CAA champion and set conference records in the 100-meter hurdles (13.71) and 400-meter hurdles (59.88). She was the co-recipient of the Outstanding Track Performer award at the 2007 CAA Track & Field Championship. Tramaine was one of 25 student-athletes chosen to CAA’s 25
th Anniversary Women’s Track & Field team and was inducted into the Northeastern Hall of Fame in 2015.
The success and work ethic that Tramaine exhibited as a student-athlete has carried over to her becoming a very accomplished coach. She has been selected as the CAA Men’s Track & Field Coach of the Year for the past three seasons (2019-21), and has helped guide the Huskies to six consecutive CAA men’s track and field titles (3 as an assistant coach, 3 as a head coach). Her athletes have claimed 38 gold medals in four seasons as head coach and three athletes have advanced to the NCAA Championship during her tenure.
