CAA Football Weekly Awards - November 7

RICHMOND, Va. (November 7, 2022) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 10 of the 2022 season. Delaware graduate student quarterback Nolan Henderson was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Elon senior defensive back Marcus Hillman earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Towson senior kick/punt returner D’Ago Hunter repeated as the Special Teams Player of the Week and Towson freshman wide receiver Isaiah Perkins was chosen as the Rookie of the Week.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Nolan Henderson, Gr., QB, Delaware (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna)
In three quarters of action, Henderson completed 22-of-28 passes for 323 yards and a school-record tying five touchdowns, and also ran for a score, in Delaware’s 49-17 win over Monmouth. The Blue Hens’ quarterback threw for four TD’s and ran in from 2 yards out in the first half and added his fifth scoring pass on the first drive of the second half as UD tallied its most points since 2016.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Marcus Hillman, Sr., DB, Elon (Camden, N.J./Camden Catholic)
Hillman recorded eight tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble in Elon’s 27-3 victory over UAlbany. The senior was part of a Phoenix defense that held UA to season-lows in yards (210) and points (3) and tallied 10 sacks, matching the 2
nd-most by any FCS team this season. Hillman also forced his 8
th career fumble, setting an Elon record.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
D’Ago Hunter, Sr., KR/PR, Towson (Culpeper Va./Eastern View)
Hunter returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown and also had a 60-yard kickoff return as Towson topped Villanova, 27-3. The senior finished with 172 all-purpose yards and became the first Tigers’ player to return a punt for a TD since 2017. Hunter has scored three TD’s on returns this season and is averaging 24.0 yards on punts and 24.6 yards on kickoffs.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Isaiah Perkins, Fr., WR, Towson (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti)
Perkins made a team-high four receptions for 60 yards and a career-best two touchdowns in Towson’s 27-3 triumph over Villanova. The freshman had a 25-yard TD catch in the second quarter that put the Tigers on top and added a 10-yard TD grab early in the fourth quarter that pushed the lead to 17. Perkins has 22 catches for 268 yards this season.
