KANSAS CITY (Dec. 9, 2022) – Hofstra’s Eliot Goldthorp was voted a Second Team All-America selection by United Soccer Coaches, while CAA Men’s Soccer players collected seven of the 11 first team spots on the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region First Team and a total of 15 CAA competitors were honored.

Goldthorp’s 17 goals and 40 points in 2022 both ranked second in the nation. The UK native in his first year on Long Island scored six game-winners – tied for second nationally – in 21 games, beginning with a decisive goal with one second remaining on opening night in his Pride debut. The 17 goals were tied for the most by a CAA player since the turn of the century.

Elon earned four First Team All-Region honors with goalkeeper Ryan Bilichuk, defenders Franc Gamiz Quer and Vemund Hole Vik, and midfielder Scott Vatne making the list. Hofstra’s Ryan Carmichael and Goldthorp joined them along with UNCW’s Bachir Ndiaye.

Hofstra’s Pierce Infuso and William & Mary’s Alexander Levengood were named Second Team honorees, while six CAA players earned spots on the Third Team: Charleston’s Chris Elliott, Elon’s Mason Duval, Hofstra’s Wessel Speel, Monmouth’s Ben Zakowski, UNCW’s Jalen Anderson, and William & Mary’s Diba Nwegbo.

All three CAA major award winners – Player of the Year Carmichael, Defensive Player of the Year Hole Vik, and Rookie of the Year Elliott – were recognized along with nine of the 11 players on the All-CAA First Team, four Second Team selections, and two Third Team recipients.
