CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Feb. 14

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 14, 2021) – The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has announced its women’s basketball weekly awards, recipients as Delaware's Jasmine Dickey and Claudia Soriano of Northeastern claimed honors following their performances last week.  
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jasmine Dickey, Delaware 
Senior | Guard / Forward | Baltimore, Md. / Catonsville
Dickey averaged 26.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, leading Delaware to three road wins in five days. The senior guard/forward also added 2.7 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game throughout the week. On Wednesday, Dickey scored a team-high 29 points with 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block as Delaware handed Towson its first loss at home this season (81-78). She followed the performance with her fifth consecutive double-double, recording 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-63 win over Northeastern. Dickey capped the week by tallying 36 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks to lead the Blue Hens to a 71-58 victory over Hofstra. Dickey ranks third in the NCAA in points per game (25.5) and third in the CAA in rebounds per game (9.50) this season.  
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Claudia Soriano, Northeastern 
Freshman | Guard | Barcelona, Spain / Jesuites Gràcia Col · Legi Kostka
Soriano continued her impressive freshman campaign, stuffing the stat sheet with 13.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game last week. The freshman guard contributed 18 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block as Northeastern pushed Delaware to the brink but ultimately fell 66-63. Against Drexel, she recorded a game-high seven assists and paced the Huskies with four steals, adding eight points and four rebounds despite a setback to the Dragons.
