CAA Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – Mar. 21

RICHMOND, Va. (Mar. 21, 2022) – The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has announced its men’s lacrosse weekly award winners following last week’s competition. Fairfield’s James Corasanti and Delaware’s Mike Robinson shared CAA Co-Player of the Week honors after impressive performances on opposite ends of the field, while Jack McKenna of Fairfield picked up his third CAA Rookie of the Week accolades this spring.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
James Corasaniti, Fairfield
Senior | Goalkeeper | New York, N.Y. / Fordham Prep
Corasaniti had a stellar week between the pipes, recording 44 saves and a .667 save percentage to lead Fairfield to a 2-0 week. On Monday, the senior goalkeeper posted 21 saves, and a .656 save percentage against Binghamton as the Stags defeated the Bearcats 16-11. He also scooped up four ground balls and caused a turnover in the effort. Corasaniti improved on the performance over the weekend as he recorded a career-high 23 saves, posting a .676 save percentage in Fairfield’s 15-11 win over Providence. The 23 saves are the fourth most in a single game in the NCAA this season. Corasaniti also becomes one of two players in the NCAA with multiple 20+ save performances this season.

Mike Robinson, Delaware

Robinson led Delaware to the first win over a ranked opponent in CAA men’s lacrosse this season. The junior attackman netted a game-high five goals in the Blue Hens’ 12-10 victory over No. 18 Johns Hopkins while adding three ground balls in the effort. Robinson’s final tally came after a 4-1 Blue Jay run tied the game at 10. The Peterborough, Ontario native netted the go-ahead goal with three minutes remaining in the contest to put Delaware in front for the final time. Robinson has scored at least five goals in three of his last four games and ranks second in the CAA with 27 goals this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jack McKenna, Fairfield

McKenna continued his impressive freshman campaign, recording nine points on eight goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Stags. Against Binghamton, McKenna led the Fairfield attack, tallying a career-best six points on five goals and one assist as the Stags downed the Bearcats 16-11. The Fairfield, Conn. native added a hat trick against Providence, helping Fairfield to a 15-11 victory over the Friars. McKenna has recorded at least two goals in every game this season and three or more on five occasions.
