Trey Mallory received men’s honors. On the women’s side, Charleston junior
Slade Coetzee and the William & Mary tandem of senior

CAA Men’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week
Noah Borges, Jr., Charleston (Bottrop, Germany)
Borges went 2-0 at No. 4 singles to help Charleston rally for a pair of 4-3 team victories over Fairfield and CAA foe James Madison last week. Against Fairfield, Borges evened the match at 1-1 with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win over Keean Shah. In the conference battle with JMU, the junior outlasted Oscar Hernandez, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4 in the deciding match as the Cougars beat the Dukes for the first time since 2017.
CAA Men’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week
Holden Koons, Jr., James Madison (York, Pa.)
Koons posted a 5-0 mark at No. 1 singles in James Madison’s road swing last week. The junior defeated Edoardo Bottino of Queens (6-2, 6-2), Hayden Shoemake (6-1, 3-6, 6-0) of the The Citadel, Alejandro Solares of Davidson (6-3, 7-6), Zac Larke of Charleston (6-0, 6-2) and Damien Nezar of Campbell (3-6, 7-5, 6-3) to extend his winning streak to seven and push his dual match record to 13-1. Koons and partner Youssef Sadek also compiled a 4-1 ledger at No. 1 doubles for the Dukes.
CAA Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Gabe Hurtado, So., UNCW (Bogota, Colombia)
Trey Mallory, Fr., UNCW (South Hampton, Bermuda)
Hurtado and Mallory compiled a 3-0 record at No. 3 doubles for UNCW last week. The Seahawks’ duo beat Yusuf Khamis and Thiago Pernis of No. 73 ETSU, 6-2, to help earn the doubles point. They clinched the doubles point against Monmouth by topping Lucca Silva and Trent Massam, 6-3, and also downed Bryant’s Nick Lorenz and Teague Burger, 6-2, as the Seahawks took the point. Hurtado and Mallory have won four straight matches.
CAA Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Slade Coetzee, Jr., Charleston (Miami Beach, Fla.)
Coetzee went 5-0 at No. 1 singles as Charleston extended its winning streak to nine with victories over Elon (5-2), Davidson (6-1), Indiana (5-2), William & Mary (4-3) and Towson (7-0) last week. The junior posted straight-set victories over Elon’s Sibel Tanik (6-2, 7-5), Indiana’s Lara Schneider (6-4, 6-2) and Towson’s Amelia Lawson (6-0, 6-0). She also rallied past Davidson’s Josie Schaffer (6-7, 6-3, 11-9) and knocked off No. 81 Mila Saric of William & Mary (5-7, 6-3, 7-5) to clinch the match.
CAA Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Mila Saric, Sr. William & Mary (Los Cristianos-Arona, Tenerife, Spain)
Hedda Gurholt, Fr., William & Mary (Oslo, Norway)
Saric and Gurholt helped William & Mary capture the doubles point in all three matches last week, including two in CAA play, with a 3-0 record at the No. 1 slot. The duo opened with a 6-3 win over East Carolina’s Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain and then picked up a 6-2 victory over UNCW’s Sasha Belaya and Lauren Gish as the Tribe beat the No. 72 Seahawks, 6-1. They capped their week by defeating Charleston’s Slade Coetzee and Halli Trinkle, 6-2, in a narrow 4-3 team setback to the Cougars.
