Milana Zizakovic have been selected as the final Colonial Athletic Association weekly award winners for women’s lacrosse in the 2022 regular season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Mennella, Hofstra

Mennella posted a career day on Saturday to clinch a spot for Hofstra in this week’s CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship presented by Primis. The junior from Long Island eclipsed her career high with six goals and matched her personal best with three assists to more than double her previous career-best in points (4) in an 18-12 win over Elon. The nine points for Mennella were the most for a Hofstra player since Alyssa Parrella’s 10 in March 2021. Mennella is the fourth Hofstra player to earn a weekly honor this season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

McHugh recorded nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for Drexel, which will enter the CAA Championship on its home field as the No. 2 seed. The junior from Pennsylvania collected a career-high five caused turnovers and matched her career best with five ground balls in Tuesday’s win at Dartmouth before tallying four ground balls and two caused turnovers in Saturday’s setback against No. 10 James Madison. McHugh was previously Defensive Player of the Week on February 21.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Zizakovic is CAA Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks after helping Towson to two wins to clinch the No. 1 seed in the CAA Championship. The freshman from Alberta tallied a goal and an assist in each of her two games last week – seven-goal wins over William & Mary and Delaware – while corralling two draw controls against the Tribe and four vs. the Blue Hens. Towson collected Rookie of the Week honors five times in 2022.
