CAA Announces Dates And Sites For 2022-23 Conference Championships

2022-23 CAA CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va. (June 14, 2022) – The Colonial Athletic Association announced its 2022-23 championships schedule, which features the addition of men’s and women’s indoor track and field for the first time.

The CAA expands to 13 members on July 1 as Hampton University, Monmouth University, North Carolina A&T State University and Stony Brook University become conference members. With the increase in members, the field sizes of several championships have expanded.

In the fall, Delaware will serve as host for the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships (Oct. 28) at White Clay Creek State Park, and the four-team Field Hockey Championship (Nov. 4 and & 6), where the Blue Hens have won the past three titles.

The Women’s Soccer Championship will expand to eight teams in 2022. The top two seeds will host the quarterfinals and semifinals on Oct. 28 & 30, with the championship game played at the site of the highest remaining seed on Nov. 5.

The Men’s Soccer Championship increases to six teams, with first-round and semifinal games at the sites of the top two seeds on Nov 4 & 6. The championship game will be played on Nov. 12 at the highest remaining seed.

The CAA Volleyball Championship returns to SECU Arena on the Towson campus from Nov. 17-19. Eight teams will battle for the title with the host Tigers having won the past three tournaments.

For the first time, the CAA will conduct a Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship. The event will be held Feb. 22-23 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

The CAA Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships move to the recently built Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va. from Feb. 22-25.

The Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. will be the site of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship for the third time. The 13-team tournament takes place from March 3-7.

The 13-team CAA Women’s Basketball Championship will be held at Towson’s SECU Arena for the first time from March 8-12.

In the spring, both the CAA Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships return to familiar courses. The women’s championship will be held April 14-16 at The Clubs at St. James Reserve Course in Southport, N.C., while the men’s championship will be conducted April 23-25 at Dataw Island Golf Club in St. Helena Island, S.C.

Both tennis titles will be determined at the new Mackesy Tennis Center at the Millie West Courts on the campus of William & Mary. The CAA Women’s Tennis Championship is set for April 20-23, while the Men’s Tennis Championship is slated for April 27-30.

The four-team CAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be held at the site of the regular-season champion on May 4 & 6. The CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be conducted at Towson on May 5 & 7 with four teams battling for the crown.

The CAA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships take place May 5-6 at William & Mary’s Zable Stadium.

The CAA Softball Championship expands to eight teams and will be hosted for the first time at Delaware Softball Stadium. The double-elimination tournament takes place from May 9-13.

For the sixth time, the CAA Rowing Championship will be conducted on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. on May 14.

Wrapping up the schedule is the CAA Baseball Championship, which returns to Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. for the first time since 2016. Six teams will vie for the title in a double-elimination format from May 24-27.
