RICHMOND, Va. (Jan. 17, 2023) – The CAA and LacrosseTV continue their partnership in 2023 with a 29-game package that includes 15 men’s and 14 women’s lacrosse contests on the network, culminating with the semifinals and final of both CAA Championships.

Every CAA team will be featured at least once as part of the package, which includes a combination of league matchups and non-conference home clashes against members of the Big Ten, ACC, Ivy League, Patriot League, Big East, Atlantic 10, and American prior to both conference tournaments in early May.

The CAA enters the 2023 season with two teams nationally ranked in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll as newcomer Stony Brook is No. 4 on the women’s side and defending CAA Men’s Lacrosse champion Delaware is at No. 14. Both those squads will be featured three times in the package, as will last year’s CAA Women’s Lacrosse title winners, Drexel, along with the Drexel men and Delaware women.

The schedule begins on Wednesday, Feb. 15, when newcomer Monmouth’s women’s team hosts preseason No. 7 Rutgers. A doubleheader from Philadelphia will follow on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with the Drexel women welcoming No. 2 Maryland and the Dragon men hosting Lafayette. The February slate wraps up with Delaware’s women hosting Temple (Feb. 22) and the Blue Hens’ men’s squad taking on Villanova (Feb. 26).

The March docket includes nine games on LacrosseTV, beginning the first day of the month with a local men’s showdown between Towson and Loyola. A March 4 doubleheader follows with the Stony Brook men hosting No. 12 Brown and the Delaware women taking on Georgetown. March 7 brings viewers back to the Jersey Shore for a women’s contest between Monmouth and Johns Hopkins followed a week later by the Syracuse men making a trip to Long Island to take on Hofstra (March 14).

CAA play in women’s lacrosse begins March 18 with four teams squaring off in a two-game afternoon on LacrosseTV. Delaware will head to Stony Brook to begin the day before a rematch of last year’s CAA title game between Drexel and Towson. Another doubleheader will be available on March 25 with both games from Shuart Stadium, as the Hofstra women host Towson before the Pride men’s squad takes on Delaware.

Action heats up in April with a pair of men’s contests in the month’s first four days, beginning with a Saturday trip to Fairfield where the Stags face Drexel (April 1) before a midweek clash between Monmouth and No. 20 Saint Joseph’s (April 4). A Friday women’s matinee in Philadelphia between Elon and Drexel (April 7) and a Saturday showdown right back at Vidas Field on the men’s side between Stony Brook and Drexel the next day (April 8) set up viewers for five games in the final three weekends of the regular season.

Towson will host No. 13 Denver in a Thursday night men’s non-conference contest (April 13) and the Stony Brook women get a visit from William & Mary in a Saturday morning start at LaValle Stadium (April 15). A Drexel-Delaware battle on the men’s side (April 22) will bring things to the final weekend of the season, which will feature two games on LacrosseTV: The first Battle of Long Island for Hofstra and Stony Brook as CAA foes in women’s lacrosse (April 28) and a men’s contest in Connecticut between Hampton and Fairfield (April 29).

Last season CAA Men’s Lacrosse made noise on the national stage as Delaware became the third conference team since 2016 to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Additionally, three league members earned wins over nationally ranked opponents, including the Blue Hens with two. The most memorable came in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament as Delaware upset No. 2 Georgetown, 10-9. Individually, four student-athletes from three CAA teams earned All-America recognition, while two were selected in the PLL Draft and five went in the NLL Draft.

CAA Women’s Lacrosse enters 2023 with two teams that appeared in last year’s NCAA Tournament – Drexel, the CAA’s defending champion – and Stony Brook, which advanced to the Quarterfinals after qualifying as an at-large out of the America East. The Dragons and Seawolves, along with Delaware, defeated nationally ranked opponents in 2022, while three Tewaaraton watch list players from a year ago will suit up in CAA games in 2023.
