Aaron Estrada | Hofstra
Estrada’s weekend included a 40-point outburst and the toppling of a nationally ranked opponent. The Pride guard poured in 40 points in Thursday’s comeback win at Elon and tallied 25 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to earn Hofstra a win at No. 18 Charleston on Saturday. Estrada averaged 32.5 points on 53% shooting and 54% from three, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals as Hofstra improved to 8-2 in CAA play and won at a ranked opponent for the second-straight season. Estrada is one of two players to earn Player of the Week honors three times this season and earns his eighth weekly honor in two seasons at Hofstra.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jack Collins | Monmouth
Collins’ Saturday performance helped power Monmouth to its first CAA win in its inaugural campaign in the league. The guard from Monmouth County scored eight points and tallied seven rebounds Thursday in a narrow setback at UNCW before knocking down four three-pointers as part of a 16-point night in Saturday’s win over North Carolina A&T. For the weekend, Collins averaged 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. Collins is Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Hofstra’s
Aaron Estrada scored a career-high 40 points in Thursday’s win at Elon and 25 in Saturday’s victory at previously No. 18 Charleston. The performance, and the Hofstra win over a top 25 team for the second-straight year, earned Estrada National Player of the Week accolades from ESPN, The Field of 68, and College Insider. In addition, Hofstra was named National Team of the Week by the NCAA.
CHARLESTON: 21-2
Charleston is 21-2 with a win total (21) that is tied for the best in the nation and win percentage (.913) that ranks third among all 363 Division I teams. The Cougars are receiving votes in the AP poll for the 11th consecutive week and were ranked for four, while CofC is 6-1 against last year’s NCAA Tournament field, and 4-0 vs. defending conference champions (A10, ACC, CAA, SoCon).
The Cougars are the first mid-major to win the Charleston Classic, as they captured the title with a victory over Virginia Tech in November. Charleston’s resume also includes wins over Kent State and UNCW with the lone setbacks at preseason No. 1 North Carolina and a four-point loss to Hofstra.
HERE COME THE TIGERS
Towson has won six straight games by an average of 14.2 points and is tied with Hofstra for second in the CAA standings at 8-2. The Tigers have limited opponents to 67 points or less in seven of eight conference wins and to less than 50 twice.
Cam Holden recorded Towson’s first triple-double in program history against a Division I opponent with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists on Saturday.

North Carolina A&T players have won the CAA Player of the Night fan vote after all six of A&T’s wins in conference play. Thursday’s winner,
Marcus Watson, capped off a 22-point performance with a highlight-reel dunk that was viewed over 125,000 times on the CAA and NCAA Instagram accounts by Friday morning.
QUAD WORKOUT
CAA teams hold 12 wins that qualify as Quad 1 or 2 in the NET. Hofstra has a Q1 win at Charleston and Q2 victories at Princeton and San Jose State, while Charleston has earned four Q2 victories (Virginia Tech, Kent State, UNCW, Towson). Towson (UNCG), UNCW (North Texas), North Carolina A&T (Hofstra), William & Mary (UNCW), and Delaware (Princeton) each have one in Q2.
The CAA went 6-2 vs. both the Sun Belt and MAAC, 8-3 vs. the A10, and 7-3 vs. the SoCon in addition to wins over the ACC and American.

One thing to know on each #CAAHoops team
- Charleston’s 21 wins are tied with Purdue and FAU for the most in the nation; the Cougars’ .913 winning percentage ranks third out of all 363 Division I teams.
- Delaware ranks second nationally in the percentage of minutes played by players with two fouls in the first half (61.6%).
- Drexel has held 16 of 22 opponents under 70 points and two under 40 points.
- Elon’s Sean Halloran is 53-for-58 (91.4%) from the free-throw line this season.
- Hampton will play a non-league game Saturday in New Jersey against Norfolk State as part of the Legacy Classic. The game will be nationally televised on TNT.
- Hofstra scored 80+ points for the ninth time this season in Saturday’s win and third time in its last five games.
- Tahron Allen notched a career-high 23 points and nine rebounds in Monmouth’s win at A&T.
- North Carolina A&T is 4-1 on the road in CAA play.
- UNCW is 3-1 in its last four games with an average of 51.3 points allowed in the three wins.
- Northeastern’s Coleman Stucke scored a career-high 34 points in Saturday’s game at Delaware; his previous career-best of 19 was achieved Thursday at Towson.
- Stony Brook’s Frankie Policelli leads the CAA with eight double-doubles after tallying 34 and 11 in Saturday’s comeback victory at Hampton.
- Cam Holden’s triple-double was the first against a D1 opponent in Towson history and first by a CAA player since Charleston’s Grant Riller had 20/10/10 on Jan. 16, 2020 vs. Northeastern; Holden’s 24 points were the most in a CAA triple-double since T.J. Williams scored 26 for Northeastern on Feb. 23, 2017 at Elon.
- William & Mary’s Anders Nelson shot 15-for-16 (94%) and 9-for-10 (90%) from three in last week’s two games.
