RICHMOND, Va. (October 9, 2023) – UAlbany senior linebacker Dylan Kelly and Richmond freshman quarterback Camden Coleman were honored as FedEx Ground FCS National Players of the Week by Stats Perform.

Kelly was named the National Defensive Player of the Week after racking up an FCS season-high 23 tackles, including nine solos, as UAlbany posted a 24-17 victory at Towson. His final tackle helped drop a rusher for a two-yard loss on fourth-and-goal from the UA 1 with 55 seconds left. Also in the Great Danes’ third straight win, Kelly forced a fumble and recovered it, and had a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry.

Coleman was selected as the National Freshman Player of the Week. Playing in his second game and making his first start, the true freshman tied the Spiders’ single-game record with six touchdown passes to fuel a 42-31 win over Maine. Coleman completed 25 of 36 passes (69.4 percent) for 365 yards with two interceptions and a 198.5 pass efficiency rating. Two of his TD passes went for over 50 yards, and he also had a 26-yard reception and 10 rushing yards.
