CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Nov. 13

RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 13, 2023) – The CAA has announced its women’s basketball weekly awards following the opening week of the 2023-24 season. Stony Brook graduate forward/center Khari Clark was named CAA Player of the Week, and Delaware freshman forward Darrionna Howard earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors.

Clark averaged 18.5 points per game on 15-of-19 shooting from the floor, adding 9.0 rebounds per contest to lead Stony Brook to a 2-0 week. On Monday, the graduate transfer recorded a double-double in her Seawolf debut, notching a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting with a team-leading 10 rebounds. Clark added three assists, three steals and one block as Stony Brook defeated Columbia 85-73 in its season opener. On Saturday, she surpassed her career-high in points for the second time in as many games, scoring 19 points, shooting 9-of-10 from the floor, and contributing eight rebounds in an 81-63 win at Le Moyne.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Darrionna Howard, Delaware
Freshman | F | Smithfield, N.C. / Clayton
Howard recorded a double-double in her collegiate debut, helping Delaware to a season-opening victory over Longwood. In 26 minutes off the bench, the freshman forward tallied 13 points, shooting 62.5 percent (5-8) from the floor, with 12 rebounds. In addition, Howard recorded three steals and two assists as the Blue Hens topped the Lancers 81-55.
