CAA Football Places 12 Players On Associated Press FCS All-America Team

RICHMOND, Va. (December 13, 2023) – CAA Football had 12 players selected to the 2023 Associated Press FCS All-America football team.
Receiving first-team All-America recognition were Monmouth junior running back
Jaden Shirden, Monmouth senior wide receiver
Dymere Miller, New Hampshire senior running back/returner
Dylan Laube, UAlbany senior defensive end
Anton Juncaj and UAlbany senior linebacker
Dylan Kelly.
Honored on the All-America second team were New Hampshire junior quarterback
Max Brosmer, William & Mary junior offensive lineman
Charles Grant, Towson junior tight end
Carter Runyon, UAlbany junior cornerback
Aamir Hall and Elon sophomore safety
Caleb Curtain.
Voted to the third team were Richmond senior offensive lineman
Ryan Coll and Richmond senior punter
Aaron Trusler.
Shirden, the CAA Offensive Player of the Year, led FCS in rushing for the second straight season with 1,478 yards and 10 TD’s. Miller made 90 receptions for a FCS-best 1,293 yards and 9 TD’s. Laube topped FCS in all-purpose yards for the second consecutive year with 2,095 yards and 18 total TD’s. Juncaj contributed 54 tackles, 21.5 TFL’s and ranks second nationally with 15.0 sacks. Kelly is the second-leading tackler in FCS football with 155 stops, 8.5 TFL’s and 3.0 sacks.
Brosmer led FCS in passing yards (3,464) and total offense (3,575 yds.) and was second nationally with 29 passing TD’s. Grant helped William & Mary average better than 196 yards per game on the ground. Runyon led all CAA tight ends with 43 receptions for 549 yards and 4 TD’s. Hall recorded 60 tackles, a CAA-best five interceptions and 15 pass breakups. Curtain tallied a team-best 80 tackles and added 4.5 sacks and four interceptions.
Coll helped clear the way for a Richmond offense that averaged 345 yards and 28 points per game. Trusler averaged 41.5 yards per punt and placed a league-high 26 of them inside the 20-yard line.
