Eight CAA Football Players Recognized As AFCA FCS All-Americans, Three Make Walter Camp Team

RICHMOND, Va. (December 20, 2023) – CAA Football was well represented on the 2023 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS All-America team as eight players were honored, including seven first-team selections. Three of those seven honorees were also named to the Walter Camp FCS All-America squad.
Recognized as AFCA first-team All-Americans were New Hampshire junior quarterback
Max Brosmer, Monmouth junior running back
Jaden Shirden, Monmouth senior wide receiver
Dymere Miller, William & Mary junior offensive lineman
Charles Grant, UAlbany senior defensive lineman
Anton Juncaj, Richmond senior linebacker
Tristan Wheeler and New Hampshire running back/returner
Dylan Laube.
Elon sophomore defensive back
Caleb Curtain was chosen to the second team.
Making the Walter Camp All-America team were Shirden, Miller and Juncaj.
Brosmer led the nation in passing yards (3,464) and total offense (3,575 yds) and was second nationally with 29 passing TD’s. Shirden topped FCS in rushing for the second year in a row with 1,478 yards and 10 TD’s. Miller recorded 90 catches for an FCS-best 1,293 yards and 9 TD’s. Grant helped William & Mary average better than 196 yards per game on the ground. Juncaj tallied 55 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and ranked second in FCS with 15.0 sacks. Wheeler registered over 100 tackles for the fourth consecutive season with 121 stops and 10.0 TFL’s. Laube was the FCS leader in all-purpose yards for the second straight season with 2,095 yards and 18 total touchdowns.
Curtain led Elon with 80 tackles and added 6.5 TFL’s, 4.0 sacks and four interceptions.
