In celebration of Black History Month, the CAA is recognizing one current or former student-athlete, coach or administrator from each of its 13 member institutions who have made a significant impact in the community. The conference is proud to promote these men and women for their outstanding accomplishments.
Today we recognize Elon’s Dr. Khirey Walker
Dr. Khirey Walker, Football, Elon
Dr. Khirey Walker had a distinguished career on the field and in the classroom at Elon University.
A 2011 Elon graduate, Walker was a defensive lineman for the Phoenix football team. In 2010, he received the Phillips Perry Black Excellence Special Award for the highest GPA in the Male Athlete category. Walker also served as the President of the Elon SAAC organization during the 2010-11 academic year and was a student speaker at the 2011 Elon baccalaureate ceremony.
Walker is currently as Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Elon University. During the 2022 season, he worked as an analyst alongside Taylor Durham on the telecasts of Elon football.
