CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards – Aug. 28

RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 28, 2023) – The CAA has announced its first field hockey weekly award winners following the opening weekend of the 2023 season. Delaware senior forward Kiki Oudshoorn was named CAA Player of the Week, and Hofstra freshman forward/midfielder Kelly Levengood earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors. 
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kiki Oudshoorn, Delaware
Senior | Forward | Ede, Netherlands / Marnix College Ede
Oudshoorn tallied six points on three goals during Delaware’s opening weekend of the season, which included a victory over No. 18 Old Dominion on Sunday. Against the Monarchs, Oudshoorn scored twice in the fourth quarter, finding the back of the cage in the 48th minute to give the Blue Hens a 3-0 advantage before sealing the 4-2 win with a tally in the 54th minute. The senior forward also recorded Delaware’s first goal this season, scoring in the fifth minute against VCU, despite the Blue Hens eventually falling by one goal. 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kelly Levengood, Hofstra
Freshman | Forward / Midfield | West Deptford, N.J. / West Deptford
Levengood contributed three points on one goal and one assist, helping Hofstra to its best offensive output since 2011 in its season-opening victory over Merrimack. Levengood’s score and assist came during the Pride’s four-goal third quarter, which broke the contest open and lifted Hofstra to victory. The goal and assist were both the first in the career of the freshman from West Deptford, N.J.
