RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 18, 2023) – The CAA has announced its field hockey weekly award winners following the fourth week of the 2023 season. William & Mary junior midfielder Pyper Friedman earned CAA Player of the Week accolades, and Monmouth freshman goalkeeper Jessie Eiselin was named CAA Rookie of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Pyper Friedman, William & Mary
Junior | Midfield | Phoenix, Md. / Notre Dame Prep
Friedman recorded her second multi-goal game this season, leading William & Mary to a 3-2 win over Towson in its opening CAA match. The junior midfielder tallied two goals, starting the scoring in the eighth minute before extending the Tribe’s lead to 3-1 in the 42nd minute. Her second goal proved to be the game-winner, Friedman’s second this season. The junior also played all 60 minutes in the midfield against No. 10 Liberty, helping W&M hold the Flames scoreless for 58 minutes; however, the 10th-ranked team in the nation would ultimately tally two goals in the final two minutes to thwart the Tribe’s upset bid.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jessie Eiselin, Monmouth
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Amsterdam, Netherlands / De Nieuwe School
Eiselin recorded her first career shutout, leading Monmouth to a 1-0 win over Drexel in its conference opener. The freshman goalkeeper faced 15 shots, playing all 60 minutes in the cage. Eiselin turned away a career-best nine shots and posted a perfect 1.000 save percentage. Earlier in the week, the freshman goalie recorded five saves and posted a .833 save percentage in 60 minutes, helping the Hawks win 4-1 over Wagner.
