Five CAA Football Teams Ranked In FCS Top 25 For Third Straight Week

RICHMOND, Va. (September 25, 2023) – For the third straight week, five CAA Football teams are ranked in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll, presented by FedEx Ground, and four teams are ranked in the AFCA Coaches poll.

William & Mary (4-0) moved up to #4 in the AFCA poll and stayed at #5 in the Stats poll after defeating Maine, 28-3, last week. The Tribe travels to Elon on Saturday.

Delaware (3-1) vaulted to #11 in the Stats rankings and #12 in the AFCA rankings after rallying past #11 New Hampshire, 29-25 last Saturday. The Blue Hens are on a bye this week.

New Hampshire (2-2) slipped to #14 in the Stats poll and #17 in the AFCA poll following the setback at Delaware. The Wildcats are back at home to take on Towson on Saturday.

Villanova (3-1) jumped to #16 in the Stats poll and entered the AFCA poll at #23 following a 35-9 triumph over #17 Rhode Island last Saturday. The Wildcats visit UAlbany this week.

Rhode Island (2-2) fell to #24 in the Stats poll and is receiving votes in the AFCA poll after the loss at Villanova. The Rams return home to battle in-state rival Bryant on Saturday.

UAlbany (2-2) was among other teams receiving votes in the Stats poll, while Hampton (2-1) and Richmond (2-2) received votes in the AFCA poll.

CAA Football’s five ranked teams in the Stats poll trailed only the Big Sky, which had seven.
