Stony Brook’s Clark Named to Midseason Watch List for Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award

Khari Clark was on the midseason watch list for the 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, announced by Her Hoop Stats Wednesday morning.
The praise comes after being named to the NCAA Starting Five earlier this month, putting graduate forward/center well within the national spotlight.
In her first season in the CAA, Clark has established herself as one of the prominent players in the conference. The Loyola Marymount transfer leads the league in made field goals (95) and field goal percentage, ranking 16
th nationally, shooting 60.9 percent from the floor. Clark ranks fourth in the CAA in scoring and seventh in rebounding, averaging 15.1 points and 7.5 boards per contest. She has at least 10 points in 12 games this season and 10 or more rebounds six times, including five double-doubles. Additionally, Clark tallies 1.5 blocks per game, a mark that ranks fourth in the conference.
The midseason watch list includes representatives from 14 schools and 10 conferences. It marks the fourth consecutive season that a CAA student-athlete has made the midseason watch list.
The Denver, Colo. native is joined on the 2024 midseason watch list for the Becky Hammon award by Meghan Andersen (Fairfield), Katie Dinnebier (Drake), Yvonne Ejim (Gonzaga), Tess Heal (Santa Clara), Izzy Higginbottom (Arkansas State), McKenna Hofschild (Colorado State), Abbey Hsu (Columbia), Diamond Johnson (Norfolk State), Mia Moore (UAB), Racheal Rose (Wofford), Terren Ward (Georgia Southern), Kierra Wheeler (Norfolk State), Desi-Rae Young (UNLV) and Katelyn Young (Murray State).
Award Eligibility & Schedule
To be eligible for this award, players must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be "mid-major." The following conferences are considered high-major for the purposes of this award, and thus ineligible: ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, and SEC. In October, the 25-player
preseason watch list was announced. The 10 semifinalists will be announced in February, with five finalists being announced in early March. The winner will be announced in late March. The list is fluid and players may play their way on or off the list over the course of the season.
