Four CAA Teams Ranked In Final 2023 FCS Top 25 Polls

RICHMOND, Va. (January 8, 2024) – Four CAA Football teams were ranked in the final 2023 FCS Top 25 polls released by Stats Perform and the AFCA.
UAlbany (11-4) achieved its highest ranking of the season, jumping to #5 in the Stats poll and #7 in the AFCA poll. The Great Danes advanced to the semifinals of the FCS playoffs for the first time in school history, defeating Richmond and Idaho before falling to eventual national champion South Dakota State.
Villanova (10-3) remained at #6 in the Stats rankings and #9 in the AFCA rankings after reaching the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs. The Wildcats topped Youngstown State before falling to South Dakota State in the quarterfinals.
Delaware (9-4) moved up one spot in both polls, finishing at #10 in the Stats rankings and #11 in the AFCA rankings. The Blue Hens rallied past Lafayette in the first round of the playoffs before losing to national finalist Montana in the second round.
Richmond (9-4) vaulted seven spots to #15 in the Stats poll and climbed three places to #22 in the AFCA poll. The Spiders rolled past North Carolina Central in the first round of the playoffs before suffering a setback at CAA foe UAlbany in the second round.
Rhode Island (6-5) and
William & Mary (6-5) were among others receiving votes in the AFCA poll.
