OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ethan Franco, Northeastern
Senior | Forward | La Jolla, Calif. / The Bishops School
Franco opened his points tally in empathic fashion this week, recording five in two games. The action kicked off on Tuesday for the senior forward, who netted his first goal of the season against Dartmouth and helped lift the Huskies to a 4-2 victory. Four days later, Franco retook the field for his first multi-goal contribution game of the season in conference play against Delaware. Eleven minutes into action, the Southern California native provided his first assist of the season before finding the back of the net to score Northeastern’s sixth and final goal.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Noah Gold, Charleston
Junior | Defender| Germantown, Md. / Seneca Valley HS
Gold anchored a Charleston backline that limited its opponents to five shots on target and earned two consecutive victories for the first time since Sept. 14. Charleston opened the week against North Florida, helping hold the Ospreys to five shots on target. The Cougars returned to CAA action over the weekend, and Gold got it done on both ends of the pitch tallying two goals and holding Campbell to no shots on target.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bastian Hatcher, Monmouth
Graduate Student | Defender | Oslo, Norway / The Norwegian College of Top Sports
Hatcher picks up his second CAA Defensive Player of the Week honor after a perfect week on the backline. The Hawks kicked off a two-game homestand, welcoming in No. 12 Penn. With less than a quarter of the game to go, Hatcher fired one into the back of the net, helping Monmouth earn its second ranked victory of the season. With a postseason spot on the line, the Norwegian defender shut down Elon’s offense, limiting the Phoenix to one shot on target in a 1-0 victory. Hatcher and Monmouth have shut out their opponents in their last four games.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Victor Andersson, Monmouth
Freshman | Forward | Örebro, Sweden / Virginska Gymnasium
With three points separating Monmouth from a spot in the CAA Championships, Andersson took matters into his own hands, netting the Hawks’ game-winner against Elon on Saturday. When a rebound fell to the Swedish forward 72 minutes into the contest, there were no doubts as he fired it into the back of the net, clinching a postseason berth for the Hawks. The goal was Anderson’s third of the season and moved his points tally to six in his last four games.
