Ashley Lavrich are the CAA women’s soccer weekly award winners for the week ending October 6.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophie Thibeault, Towson
Sophomore | Forward | Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding
Thibeault scored both Towson goals in the Tigers’ 2-1 upending of previously undefeated Elon on Thursday night. The sophomore from Maryland scored the game’s first two goals, striking in the 27
th and 60
th minutes to build a 2-0 Tigers lead that would hold up the rest of the weekend. Towson’s six-point weekend elevated the defending CAA champions to one point back of fourth in the league standings.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Hobbs, UNCW
Redshirt Sophomore | Goalkeeper | El Cajon, Calif. / Santana
Hobbs played 158 minutes in goal for UNCW without surrendering a goal as the Seahawks defeated Hampton and tied Northeastern. The Californian made six saves in Sunday’s scoreless draw against the Huskies that earned UNCW points for the fourth-straight match.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ashley Lavrich, Monmouth
Freshman | Forward/Midfield | Birdsboro, Pa. / Twin Valley
Lavrich is Rookie of the Week for the third time this season after contributing to both goals in Monmouth’s draw at Stony Brook. The freshman from Pennsylvania assisted on Monmouth’s first goal before finding the equalizer in the 87
th minute to salvage a point in the CAA standings.
