RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 12, 2024) – Towson overcame a sluggish first 10 minutes to post a dominant 25-point win in Monday night’s CBS Sports Network game.

With the victory, Towson moved into a four-way tie for third in the CAA standings with Delaware, Drexel, and Hofstra; all four teams sit one game back of the tie at the top between UNCW and Charleston.

Towson 80, Elon 55
Towson scored 74 of its 80 points in the final 31 minutes to erase a slow start and coast to a win at TU Arena.

Towson (15-10, 8-4) trailed for the first 11 minutes before a 13-2 run from the Tigers capped off by a Chase Paar three-point play put the hosts in front 22-14 with 5:40 to go in the half. Towson led 35-25 at the break. Towson controlled the second half, shooting 62% (18-for-29) and holding a 22-13 rebounding advantage to cruise to victory.

Thompson’s double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds was his sixth of the year. Tyler Tejada led Towson with 17 points, while Nendah Tarke added 15 of Towson’s 40 bench points. TK Simpkins scored a game-high 19 for Elon (10-15, 3-9).
