CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Feb. 5

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 5, 2024) – The CAA has announced its women’s basketball weekly awards for the week of Jan. 29 through Feb. 4. Stony Brook graduate forward/center Khari Clark and North Carolina A&T junior guard Jordyn Dorsey shared CAA Player of the Week honors. It marks the second straight honor for Dorsey and fourth accolade for Clark this season. In addition, Charleston freshman guard Taryn Barbot collected her league-leading sixth CAA Rookie of the Week honor. 
 
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordyn Dorsey, North Carolina A&T

Dorsey averaged 22.5 points per game with 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per contest, leading North Carolina A&T to a 2-0 week as the Aggies extended their winning streak to eight straight games. On Friday, the junior guard recorded her first-ever double-double with a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 76-43 road victory over UNCW. She followed the performance with 22 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds in a 72-49 win over Northeastern on Sunday. Dorsey, who entered the week with a career-high of 21 points, has reached double figures in nine straight games, including 20 or more in three of the past four.  
 
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Khari Clark, Stony Brook

Clark contributed 21.0 points per game on 60.7 percent (17-27) shooting with 7.0 rebounds per contest in a 2-0 weekend for Stony Brook. On Sunday, Clark poured in a career-high 30 points, shooting 11-of-16 from the floor with six rebounds, leading Stony Brook to a 78-62 road win over Monmouth. It marks her fifth game with at least 20 points this season. The effort came after adding 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds as the Seawolves defeated rival Hofstra, 67-49, on Friday. Clark leads the CAA and ranks top-10 nationally in field goal percentage, shooting 63.0 percent from the floor. 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Taryn Barbot, Charleston
Freshman | G | Floral Park, N.Y. / St. Mary 
Barbot paced Charleston with 20.5 points per game in a weekend split for the Cougars. On Friday, the freshman tallied 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, one assist and one steal in an 86-57 victory over Hampton. On Sunday, Barbot scored a game-high 22 points, adding three rebounds, two assists and one steal despite a narrow setback to Towson on the road. The freshman, who leads the CAA in scoring at 17.1 points per game, has reached double figures in 13 straight games and has 20 or more seven times this winter.
