RICHMOND, Va. (April 15, 2024) – The CAA has announced its softball weekly awards for the week beginning on April 8 and ending on April 14. Stony Brook graduate first baseman Corinne Badger was named CAA Player of the Week, and Campbell redshirt junior earned CAA Pitcher of the Week accolades. In addition, Campbell freshman infielder Lindsay Lumsden received CAA Rookie of the Week recognition.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Corinne Badger, Stony Brook
Graduate | First Base | Pleasant Valley, N.Y. / Arlington 
Badger batted .467 (7-15) with a .579 on-base percentage, recording eight RBIs and six runs scored, leading Stony Brook to a 5-0 week as the Seawolves extended their winning streak to 11 games. The graduate first baseman tallied seven hits, including four for extra bases – two home runs, one double and one triple – slugging 1.067 for the week. Badger hit safely and drove in at least one run in all five games with two multi-hit efforts. Over the weekend, she tallied four hits, five RBIs, and two runs scored, helping Stony Brook sweep rival Hofstra, snapping a five-game skid against the Pride. 
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Isabella Smith, Campbell
R-Junior | Raleigh, N.C. / St. David’s School 
Smith went 3-0 in the circle with a 0.82 ERA, leading Campbell to an unbeaten week, including a win over No. 3 Duke. The redshirt junior tossed 17.0 innings, going the distance in all three starts and recording nine strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .155 batting average. On Wednesday, Campbell rode Smith to its highest-ranked win in program history, holding No. 3 Duke scoreless across six innings, scattering four hits and allowing just two runs in the sixth while punching out four in a 3-2 victory. Over the weekend, Smith tossed back-to-back five-inning shutouts en route to a conference sweep over Charleston. She surrendered just five hits and struck out five in 10.0 innings of work. 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lindsay Lumsden, Campbell
Freshman | Infield | Loganville, Ga. / Loganville HS
Lumsden batted .636 (7-11), including three extra-base hits, slugging 1.091 with three RBIs and three runs scored, helping Campbell to a 4-0 week. The freshman hit safely in all four contests, including three multi-hit efforts while recording two doubles and one home run. Lumsden went 6-for-8 at the plate over the weekend, recording all three multi-hit efforts, with a walk, three RBIs and three runs scored during Campbell’s sweep over Charleston. The freshman also went 1-for-3 in Campbell’s historic win over No. 3 Duke.
