CAA Men's Golfers Complete Play At NCAA Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. (May 15, 2024) – CAA champion Charleston and standout individuals Walker Isley of UNCW and Erik Johansson of Campbell completed play in the NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars finished 12th at the West Lafayette Regional, posting a three-round score of 886 (304-291-291). Charleston was led by Loran Appel, who shot a 1-over par 217 (75-70-72) to finish in a tie for 23rd in the regional. Zach Reuland placed 41st with a 4-over par 220 (77-70-73) and Kieron van Wyk was in 50th with an 8-over par 224 (74-77-73).

Isley tied a UNCW program record with a 3-under par 67 on Wednesday, which vaulted him to an18th-place finish at the Chapel Hill Regional. His 4-under par total of 206 (69-70-67) broke the Seahawks’ record for the lowest score at an NCAA Regional.

Johannson placed 67th overall at the Chapel Hill Regional with a three-day score of 227 (72-77-78). The CAA Rookie of the Year completed his season with the second-lowest stroke average (72.26) by a Campbell freshman.
