CAA Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards – Aug. 19, 2024

RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 19, 2024) – Stony Brook junior Gabrielle Côté, Monmouth graduate student Lauren Bruno, and Charleston redshirt freshman Caroline Fowlkes are the first CAA women’s soccer weekly award winners of the 2023 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabrielle Côté, Stony Brook
Junior | Forward | Pincourt, Québec / Vanie 
Côté scored twice in a 1-0-1 week for Stony Brook that included a victory over Colgate and draw at Maryland. The Québécoise junior tallied the game-winner in Thursday’s season-opening contest and pulled the Seawolves level in a 2-2 draw in College Park on Sunday 
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Bruno, Monmouth
Graduate Student | Defense | Manalapan, N.J. / Manalapan
Bruno helped the Monmouth defense stymie Temple in the Hawks’ season-opening shutout victory. The grad student from Central Jersey backed up her Preseason Player of the Year credentials by leading the Monmouth backline in holding the Owls to six total shots in Thursday’s 1-0 win in Philadelphia.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Caroline Fowlkes, Charleston
Redshirt Freshman | Forward | The Woodlands, Texas / Tomball
Fowlkes scored twice in Charleston’s season-opening 7-0 rout of in-state foe South Carolina State on Thursday. The Texan forward notched the game’s first tally in the 33rd minute and added another in the 74th to help Charleston start a 2-0-0 weekend to begin 2024.
