RICHMOND, Va. (Sep. 16, 2024) – Monmouth senior Jess Tucker, Towson forward Lexi Bove, Northeastern senior Kristi Merashoff, and Towson freshman Anouk Westerink are the CAA field hockey weekly award winners for the week ending September 15.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lexi Bove, Towson
Senior | Forward | Fredericksburg, Va. / Stafford
Bove opened her season account this past week, tallying three goals and one assist in Towson’s two victories. The senior forward assisted the game opener in Friday’s 5-4 victory over Georgetown, tallying the Tigers third of the game midway through the third quarter. Sunday’s 4-0 victory was headlined by Bove’s brace, with the Virginia native scoring Towson’s second and fourth in the win.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jess Tucker, Monmouth
Senior | Midfielder | Havelock North, New Zealand / Havelock North
With Monmouth playing just one game this week, Tucker put her mark on the game scoring two goals and tacking on an assist in a 5-0 victory over Rider on Friday. The New Zealand native scored the second and third goal of the match for the Hawks, marking her second multi-goal game of the season and giving Monmouth a commanding lead early in the second half.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristi Merashoff, Northeastern
Senior | Goalkeeper | Towson, Md. / Towson High School
Merashoff lined up in goal for Northeastern against two formidable foes this week starting off with No. 14 Syracuse on Friday night. The senior goalkeeper kept the contest close heading into the second half, notching seven first-half saves. Merashoff would end the game with nine stops, matching a season high. The Towson native also made two saves in the Huskies’ 2-1 victory over Holy Cross just two days later.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Anouk Westerink, Towson
Freshman | Forward | Ede, Netherlands / Marnix College Ede
Westerink factored into three of Towson’s nine tallies with two goals and an assist in wins over Georgetown and Queens. The Dutch native got off to a hot start against Georgetown, scoring the first of the contest midway through the second quarter. Westerink rounded out the game with an assist on the Tigers fourth of the day. The freshman forward notched her second goal of the week in a 4-0 victory over Queens on Sunday afternoon.
