CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards – Sep. 23, 2024

RICHMOND, Va. (Sep. 23, 2024) – Monmouth freshman Milla Frye, Delaware graduate student Cecile van Eijck, Drexel redshirt freshman Alana Poole, and Monmouth freshman Lilly Ricks are the CAA field hockey weekly award winners for the week ending September 22.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Milla Frye, Monmouth
Freshman | Midfield/Forward | Ratingen, Germany / Immanuel-Kant Gymnasium
Tallying the best single-game point total of her young career, Frye had an impressive performance against Hofstra on Friday. Just seven minutes into the contest, The German forward opened the scoring for her third tally of the season. Recording an assist on the Hawks’ fifth of the afternoon, it was Frye who rounded out the scoring, notching her fifth point of the game and setting a new career record.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cecile van Eijck, Delaware
Graduate Student | Goalkeeper | The Hague, Netherlands / HC Rotterdam
Posting a 2-0 record this week, van Eijck held strong for Delaware, shutting out both Towson and American across 120 minutes of action. The Blue Hens kicked off their week on Friday, when the graduate student goalkeeper tallied a save in a 1-0 victory. Two days later, Delaware posted the same score, thanks in large part to a huge performance for van Eijck, who had seven saves en route to her second clean sheet of the week, and third of the season.
 
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alana Poole, Drexel
Redshirt Freshman | Goalkeeper | Glen Mills, Pa. / Garnet Valley
Poole earmarked her first career start with a five-save clean sheet against conference opponent Northeastern. The redshirt freshman’s form continued, earning her second career victory in as many starts, holding Penn to just one goal and making three saves in a 2-1 victory.
 
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lilly Ricks, Monmouth
Freshman | Forward | Munich, Germany / Oskar von Miller Gymnasium
Ricks tallied her first two career goals this past week, helping Monmouth earn two victories and outscore their opponents 8-0. Scoring the sixth in the Hawks’ 7-0 win over Hofstra, Ricks continued her hot streak in front of goal by recording the lone tally in a 1-0 victory over Columbia.
