Stony Brook's Dempster Named Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. (September 30, 2024) – Stony Brook senior running back
Roland Dempster has been selected as the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week following his strong performance in the Seawolves’ 22-3 victory over Morgan State last Saturday.
Dempster rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries and added two receptions for 59 yards in the win. It was the third time in the past four games that the senior has run for over 150 yards and scored multiple touchdowns. He leads the CAA and ranks fifth in FCS with 585 rushing yards and he’s third nationally with nine rushing TD’s.
Dempster is the second CAA player to earn national honors from Stats Perform this season, joining Elon running back TJ Thomas, who was the National Freshman of the Week on Sept. 9.

Sone Ntoh received honorable mention as National Offensive Player of the Week, Monmouth returner
Makhi Green earned honorable mention as National Special Teams Player of the Week, and Villanova running back
David Avit and Richmond cornerback
CJ Fraser were named honorable mention as National Freshman of the Week.
