Road teams went 4-3 in CAA men's basketball on Thursday on a night with a number of dramatic comebacks.

Delaware 84, Stony Brook 74

Niels Lane provided team highs of 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead Delaware (10-8, 3-2 CAA) past Stony Brook (4-14, 0-5 CAA). John Camden added 19 points and nine boards for the Blue Hens, who shot 50% from the floor in the victory.

Stony Brook used an 8-0 run capped by a Nick Woodard layup to take a 19-14 advantage in the first half, but the Blue Hens battled back to go up 39-37 at the half. UD used a 12-2 surge midway through the second half and went ahead 62-49 on a Camden layup with 10:38 remaining. UD maintained a double-digit lead over the final nine minutes. Izaiah Pasha chipped in 12 points for UD. The Seawolves got 23 points from Joe Octave and 20 points on 4-of-6 three-point shooting from CJ Luster.



Charleston 67, Campbell 61

Derrin Boyd scored eight straight points, including back-to-back three-pointers in the final three minutes, to help Charleston (14-4, 4-1 CAA) battle past Campbell (7-11, 2-3 CAA).

Campbell sprinted out to an early seven-point lead, but the Cougars owned a 33-30 edge at the break. Midway through the second half, the Camels put together a 7-0 run capped by a Jason Sinani layup to take a 52-47 advantage with 8:20 remaining. Trailing by three with under three minutes on the clock, Boyd delivered consecutive 3-pointers that put Charleston ahead 63-60 with 1:57 to go. Campbell got within a bucket, but Deywilk Tavarez and Boyd went 4-for-4 from the in the final 17 seconds to clinch the win. Tavarez and Boyd scored 15 points apiece, while Lazar Djokovic posted a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. For Campbell, Colby Duggan poured in a game-high 21 points and Sinani added 14.



Elon 65, Drexel 54

Sam Sherry narrowly missed a fourth straight double-double with a team-high 19 points and nine rebounds as Elon (13-5, 4-1 CAA) earned a 65-54 road win at Drexel (10-8, 2-3 CAA).

Drexel went up 8-6 early, but Sherry hit a three to give the Phoenix a lead they would hold the rest of the game. Ahead 37-31 at the half, Elon extended the margin to 10 (49-39) on a Sherry layup with 8:35 to play. The Dragons put together an 11-4 run and closed within 53-50 on a Yame Butler three with 5:23 left. However, Sherry tallied four straight points to help Elon pull away down the stretch. Nick Dorn and TK Simpkins added 15 points apiece for the Phoenix, while Kobe MaGee tallied a team-high 17 points and Jason Drake scored 15 for Drexel.



Towson 65, Hofstra 60

Towson (9-9, 4-1 CAA) overcame an 18-point first-half deficit to top Hofstra (10-8, 2-3 CAA), 65-60. The Tigers held the Pride to 25% shooting in the second half after Hofstra went 17-of-24 (70.8%) in the opening 20 minutes.

The Tigers were up two midway through the first half when hot-shooting Hofstra put together a 26-6 run and went ahead 39-21 after a Michael Graham jumper with 3:07 left in the period. The Tigers climbed within 41-32 at the break and slowly cut the gap throughout the second half. Down by one in the final minute, Dylan Williamson drilled a 3-pointer to put Towson ahead, 62-60, with 31 seconds left and Caleb Embeya hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final 14 seconds. Tyler Tejada scored a team-high 16 points and Nendah Tarke tallied 14 for Towson. Hofstra was paced by Jean Aranguren with 14 points and Graham with 12.

UNCW 80, Northeastern 72

UNCW (13-5, 3-2 CAA) closed a tight game on a 12-5 run and picked up an 80-72 victory over Northeastern (10-8, 2-3 CAA).

LA Pratt, who scored a game-high 22 points, hit a layup to put the Huskies ahead by 10 midway through the first half, but Sean Moore’s layup with three seconds on the clock capped a 16-3 run for the Seahawks to go ahead 39-36 at halftime. Northeastern went back on top, 53-48, on a Masai Troutman layup with 12:48 to go, but UNCW reeled off 15 unanswered points that included a Bo Montgomery 3-point play that made it 63-53 with 8:16 remaining. Free throws from Rashad King brought NU within one with less than four minutes to go, but the Seahawks pulled away from there as Donovan Newby hit a big three with 1:32 left. Moore scored a team-high 15 points, Noah Ross had 14 and Harlan Obioha added a double-double (12 points/10 rebounds) for UNCW. Along with Pratt’s 22 points, King had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies.



William & Mary 67, Hampton 64

Matteus Case scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-6 FG shooting, including back-to-back three-point plays in the final 1:07, as William & Mary (11-7, 5-0 CAA) held off Hampton (9-9, 2-4 CAA), 67-64, to remain unbeaten in CAA play.

Hampton sprinted out to a quick 9-0 lead, but W&M closed the period on an 18-4 run to go ahead 27-22 at halftime. The Tribe extended the advantage to nine with 12 minutes left, but the Pirates stormed back and tied the contest at 54-54 on a Noah Farrakhan bucket with 4:45 remaining. A George Beale Jr. jumper put Hampton ahead, 62-60, with 1:31 on the clock, but Case delivered a three-point play to give W&M the lead and then had another 15 seconds later that made it 66-62 with 52 seconds remaining. Down by three, Hampton just missed a game-tying shot at the buzzer. Along with Case, W&M got 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting from Kyle Pulliam. Farrakhan scored a team-best 15 points for Hampton and Trevor Smith had 12.



Monmouth 72, North Carolina A&T 63

Abdi Bashir, Jr. scored a team-high 21 points and Madison Durr chipped in 16 as Monmouth (5-13, 3-2 CAA) secured a 72-63 road win at North Carolina A&T (4-15, 0-6 CAA).

The Hawks, who never trailed in the contest, went ahead 45-36 at halftime and pushed the lead to 10 early in the second half. However, the Aggies responded with a 14-5 run and tied the game at 56-56 on a Ryan Forrest free throw with 9:36 left. Up by one with under eight minutes on the clock, Monmouth reeled off eight straight points capped by a Dok Muordar layup to take a commanding 68-59 lead with 2:27 remaining. Jahnathan Lamothe led A&T with 22 points and Forrest added 19.
