RICHMOND, Va. – Charleston’s Deywilk Tavarez and Delaware’s John Camden each shined with 23.5 points per game in two wins last week to secure co-Player of the Week honors, while the Blue Hens’ Izaiah Pasha secured his third Rookie of the Week accolade on Monday.
CAA Co-Player of the Week
Deywilk Tavarez, Charleston
Sophomore | Guard | Pennsauken, N.J.
Tavarez guided the Cougars to wins over Campbell (67-61) and Northeastern (87-85) after registering 23.5 points per game on 55.2 percent (16-29 FG) shooting from the floor with 11 made treys. The sophomore guard also chipped in 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game last week. The New Jersey native matched teammate Derrin Boyd with a team-high 15 points in Charleston’s win over the Camels. Two days later, Tavarez unloaded 32 points and eight made 3-pointers to edge Northeastern. He also became the fourth CAA player this season to score 30-plus points and drain at least eight triples in a single game.

John Camden, Delaware
Senior | Forward | Downingtown, Pa.
Camden guided the Blue Hens to a 2-0 week, averaging 23.5 points on 63.0 percent (17-27 FG) shooting from the field and a 90.0% mark (9-10 FT) from the charity stripe. The senior forward also chipped in 6.0 rebounds per game. Camden propelled Delaware to an 84-74 win over Stony Brook with a near double-double performance, notching 19 points and nine boards. The Pennsylvania product went off for 28 points on 9-of-11 shooting in the team’s 79-77 victory over Elon on Saturday. Camden has reached double figures in scoring in each of his last nine games, eclipsing the 20-point mark five times over the stretch.
CAA Rookie of the Week
Izaiah Pasha, Delaware
Freshman | Guard | Harrisburg, Pa.
Pasha provided valuable minutes in two starts against Stony Brook and Elon, averaging 10.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest. The freshman guard chipped in 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting to go with five boards in the team’s double-digit victory over the Seawolves. The Harrisburg, Pa., native added eight points, four rebounds and a pair of assists in over 27 minutes of action against the Phoenix. Pasha leads all CAA freshmen in scoring with 11.2 points per game in 18 appearances.
