Bo Montgomery garnered their first weekly accolades as Co-Players of the Week, while William & Mary’s
Isaiah Mbeng earned his second Rookie of the Week selection of the season on Monday.
CAA CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Colby Duggan, Campbell
Sophomore | Forward | Monson, Mass.
Duggan led the Camels to a pair of road wins in New York last week with 25.0 points per game. The 6-foot-7 forward shot at a solid clip, hitting 62.1 percent (18-29 FG) from the floor, 54.5 percent (6-11 3FG) from distance and 80.0 percent (8-10 FT) from the charity stripe. Duggan went off for a career-high 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting with five treys in the team’s 79-54 win at Stony Brook. Two days later, the Massachusetts product helped erase an 18-point deficit with a game-winning baseline fadeaway to secure a 69-67 overtime win over Hofstra on Saturday. Duggan scored 23 points in the winning effort, knocking down six of his seven makes inside the arc and sinking 8-of-10 free throws. Duggan has registered 10 straight games in double figures, including six contests with 20-plus points.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bo Montgomery, UNCW
Graduate Student | Guard | Memphis, Tenn.
Montgomery guided UNCW to a 3-0 week with a key win over previously unbeaten William & Mary, a road victory over Charleston and a triumph over Hampton. Entering last week averaging 6.9 points per game, Montgomery shined across three wins with 16.7 points on 53.3 percent shooting (16-30 FG) from the floor. The 6-foot-5 guard also chipped in 5.3 boards per game. He produced a career-high 24 points to go with seven rebounds and two swipes in the Seahawks’ 85-74 win over the Tribe. Montgomery followed up with a team-best 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor with two treys and a 4-for-4 showing at the line to defeat Charleston, 85-83, on the road. He also chipped in five rebounds in the victory. Montgomery scored eight points in 20 minutes of work in the team’s 83-62 win over Hampton.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Isaiah Mbeng, William & Mary
Freshman | Guard | Potomac, Md.
Mbeng averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game in three contests last week. The Tribe’s freshman chipped in eight points with two of his three makes coming from distance, while logging three boards, three swipes and a trio of helpers. After a four-point, five-assist showing in a 94-83 victory over Hampton, Mbeng registered his fourth double-digit scoring effort in reserve with a 10-point performance in the team’s 78-73 victory over Monmouth. The 6-foot-1 guard out of Maryland also chipped in five assists and four steals during Saturday's outing.
