CAA Football Weekly Awards - Oct. 13

RICHMOND, Va. (October 13, 2025) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 7 of the 2025 season. Campbell sophomore running back JJ Cowan was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Rhode Island sophomore linebacker Rohan Davy earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. North Carolina A&T graduate kicker Andrew Brown and Villanova sophomore kick returner Ja’briel Mace shared Special Teams Player of the Week accolades and Towson freshman quarterback Andrew Indorf was chosen as Rookie of the Week.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
JJ Cowan, So., RB, Campbell (Erwin, N.C./Triton)
Cowan rushed for career-highs of 142 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries (8.9 ypc) as Campbell rallied for a 38-21 win at Hampton. With the Camels down 14-3, his scoring runs of 1 and 5 yards put CU ahead to stay in the 3
rd quarter and he put the game away with a 63-yarder with 1:42 to go. Cowan added a 14-yard catch for a Campbell offense that tallied 301 yards on the ground.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Rohan Davy, So., LB, Rhode Island (Briggs Chaney, Md./St. John’s)
Davy contributed six tackles and a quarterback sack before sealing Rhode Island’s 38-27 win over UNH with a 45-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 1:05 to go. With the Rams up by only four and UNH driving, he picked up a fumble forced by Moses Meus and took it in for a score. Davy was part of a URI defense that held the Wildcats to 320 yards.
CAA Football Co-Special Teams Player of the Week
Andrew Brown, Fr., PK, North Carolina A&T (Lexington, N.C./West Davidson)
Brown was 3-for-3 on field goals, including a program-record 55-yarder, in N.C. A&T’s 22-16 loss to South Carolina State. His 55-yard FG is tied for the 4
th-longest in CAA history and matches the 3
rd-longest in FCS in 2025. Brown, who also hit kicks from 43 and 33 yards vs. SCSU, set the A&T career FG record with 43.
CAA Football Co-Special Teams Player of the Week
Ja’briel Mace, So., KR/RB, Villanova (Somers Point, N.J./Mainland Regional)
Mace’s 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 5:10 to go proved to the game-winner as Villanova earned a 29-21 win at Elon. After the Wildcats fell behind by one, he changed the momentum with his second KOR for a TD in three weeks. Mace is the first VU player since 2010 to have two KOR’s for TD’s in a season.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Andrew Indorf, Fr., QB, Towson (Miami, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas)
Indorf completed 21-of-28 (75%) passes for a career-high 292 yards and two touchdowns in Towson’s 42-31 setback to No. 11 Monmouth. The two TD throws came in a 2:38 stretch that tied the game at 21-21 in the third quarter. It was the third 230+-yard passing effort for Indorf in the past four games.
