RICHMOND, Va. (October 14, 2025) – Hofstra freshman Isabella Spagnoli and Pride senior Abraham Longosiwa earned CAA cross country weekly awards after winning the individual titles at the Metropolitan XC Championship.
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Isabella Spagnoli, Hofstra
Freshman | New Hyde Park, N.Y.
Spagnoli captured the individual title at the Metropolitan XC Championship in Newark, N.J., covering the 5K course in a time of 17:15. The freshman recorded the second-fastest 5K time in program history and won the race by 24 seconds. Spagnoli’s effort led the Pride to a third-place team finish in the event.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Abraham Longosiwa, Hofstra
Senior | Eldoret, Kenya
Longosiwa set a new Hofstra 8K program record at the Metropolitan XC Championship in Newark, N.J. posting a winning time of 22:45. The senior, who topped the previous Pride mark of 22:53.5 set by Alex Masai at the 2020-21 CAA Championship, won the race by 1:44 and helped Hofstra earn a second-place team finish.
