RICHMOND, Va. (October 20, 2025) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 8 of the 2025 season. Rhode Island redshirt junior quarterback Devin Farrell was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Week while Elon sophomore defensive end Kahmari Brown and Rhode Island senior linebacker A.J. Pena shared Defensive Player of the Week honors. New Hampshire sophomore kicker Nick Reed was named Special Teams Player of the Week and William & Mary freshman defensive lineman Justin Krueger was selected as the Rookie of the Week.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Devin Farrell, RJr., QB, Rhode Island (Stockbridge, Ga./Milton)
Farrell was 19-of-20 passing for 333 yards and four touchdowns in Rhode Island’s 58-17 win at UAlbany. The junior missed on his first throw before completing 19 consecutive passes including a pair of touchdowns in the second and third quarters. The 95% completion percentage is tied for the best in FCS this season. It was Farrell’s second 300+-yard outing in the past three games.
CAA Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Kahmari Brown, So., DE, Elon (Jacksonvillle, N.C./White Oak)
Brown set career highs with 13 tackles, 3.5 TFL’s and 3.0 sacks in Elon’s 26-21 setback at William & Mary. The defensive end made two sacks on a big fourth-quarter stop as they held W&M to 319 yards on the day. Brown has a team-high 6.0 sacks and 9.5 TFL’s for the season.
CAA Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week
A.J. Pena, Sr., LB, Rhode Island (Montclair, N.J./Somerville)
Pena recorded a team-high tying six tackles, 4.0 sacks and a forced fumble in Rhode Island’s 58-17 victory at UAlbany. The four sacks are the most by any player in FCS this season and helped him become URI’s career sacks leader with 34.5. Pena was part of a dominant Rams’ defense that recorded seven sacks and forced four turnovers.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Nick Reed, So., PK, New Hampshire (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison)
Reed booted three field goals to account for all of New Hampshire’s points through the first three quarters of a 24-10 road win at Campbell. The sophomore made kicks of 36, 50 and 37 yards and added an extra point. Reed is 16-of-21 on field goals this season, including 4-for-5 from 50+ yards.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Justin Krueger, Fr., DL, William & Mary (Marietta, Ga./Walton)
Krueger tallied a career-high seven tackles, 1.5 TFL’s, a sack and a quarterback hurry as William & Mary rallied past Elon, 26-21. The freshman defensive lineman was part of a Tribe defense that recorded four sacks and held the Phoenix to seven points in the second half to come back from a 14-3 deficit.
