RICHMOND, Va. – The field is set for the 2025 CAA Women’s Soccer Championship as UNCW and Monmouth finished at the top of their respective divisions to earn semifinal hosting rights in the postseason slate.
The postseason competition is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Oct. 30, taking place on the campuses of Stony Brook and William & Mary, before heading to Monmouth and UNCW for the semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 2. The highest remaining seed with the top point total will host the CAA Championship game on either November 8 or 9. All five postseason contests will be streamed live on FloCollege.
The North Division saw havoc on Sunday as all three seeds were up for grabs. Monmouth emerged as the North’s top seed following a scoreless draw against Northeastern, thanks in part to the Huskies’
Eliza Teplow turning away a career-high 11 shots from the Hawks in the season finale. Monmouth edged out Stony Brook for a first-round bye and host-site responsibilities for the CAA Semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 2.
The four remaining North Division teams were all vying for the last seed in the CAA Women’s Soccer Championship heading into the final day of the regular season. Hofstra’s
Olivia Pearse propelled the Pride into the postseason with a 20-yard strike in the 79
th minute to earn a 3-2 win over Stony Brook. Third-seeded Hofstra will return to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Thursday to take on the defending champions, the second-seeded Seawolves, in a 6 p.m. contest.
UNCW claimed the top spot in the South Division after wrapping up league play with a 7-0-2 record, becoming the first team to finish CAA play with an unblemished record in a non-shortened season since Hofstra went 7-0-2 in 2019. The Seahawks logged a 1-1 draw against Campbell on Sunday, finishing with a league-best 23 points.
Entering the weekend having already clinched its spot in the CAA Women’s Soccer Championship, William & Mary claimed the second seed in the South Division with a 4-0 victory over Hampton on Sunday. The Tribe posted a 5-2-2 record in conference play and 17 points to show for it.
Elon surged into the postseason after going 4-0-1 over the final five matches, concluding the season with a 0-0 draw with Charleston on Sunday. The Phoenix’s quest for a CAA crown begins on Thursday when they face second-seeded William & Mary at Martin Family Stadium in Williamsburg, Va.
